Like many other detoxing cleansers, Rosewater cleanses toxins and reduces stress. Rose water is not only beautifully fragrant but extremely versatile. It has an extensive range of uses including facial toner, hair perfume, cooling mist, and linen freshener. *Rose petals are edible and rosewater has a place in the culinary world as well.
On occasion, I make my own fresh Rosewater. I do this by adding petals to a large pot and top with enough distilled water to just cover (no more or you’ll dilute your rosewater). over medium-low heat bring the water to a simmer and cover. Let simmer for 20-30 minutes or until petals have lost their color and are a pale pink.
A rose’s symbolism varies by the color:
Red – Love
White – Forgiveness
Yellow – Joy and Friendship
Pink – Compassion
**If you are using as an edible drink or external application please be mindful of any allergies that you may have or check with your healthcare provider to help you determine if Rosewater is right for you
