For today’s recipe, we are going to make a SUPERTYPHOON Candy Apple inspired and created by me.
What you’ll need:
Clean Red or Green Apples (4-12)
Candy Apple wooden sticks
Saucepan
Cookie Sheet
Parchment Paper
1/4 Cup of Light Corn Syrup
3 Cups of Granulated Sugar
Gel Food Coloring or Food Coloring
Sprinkles
Icing
Remove the stems from the apple and clean them in boiled hot water for 15 seconds on each apple to remove the waxing and residue. Dry off the apples then place them in a ice cold bowl of water and allow them to sit for 15 minutes. Place the cooled apples on a cooking sheet and allow them to sit in room temperature for 24 hours.
Add the wooden candy apple sticks in the center of the apples. Optional: Place the apples in a bowl of cold water for them to sit in the fridge while making the mix. In the saucepan, add 3 cups of granulated sugar, water, and then 1/4 of corn syrup. Add 2 tablespoons of white food coloring first then add 2 drops of blue food coloring to make a light blue shade. It is optional to stay at the color white or go into more shades of blue if you want to add more coloring to your apples. Make sure the saucepan temperature is on high heat and reaches up to 300°F (150°C). Dip the apples into the mix to swivel around and shake off any excess from the dripping. Set the apples on a baking sheet to cool and harden for 5 minutes.
For decoration, add white or blue sprinkles and icing for the finishing touch and your all set!
